saying our vows: bridal shower invite.

Apparently it's getting close to my wedding (gulp).  Because now my bridal shower invites have gone out.  I found the invites online and was so in love with them that I immediately sent them to my mom and told her I had to have them.  I created a couple extra cards (the RSVP and Honeyfund) to go with our theme of black, white and gray so that the things would match (Bed Bath and Beyond should really let you customize!).

Have I mentioned that I'm not a fan of showers- the kind that clean you are fine with me- but I'm not a fan of bridal or baby showers and normally dread having to go to them (if I've gone to your baby/bridal shower, I'm TOTALLY not talking about yours.....).  And having it be MY shower and be the center of attention?  Yeah, gives me a bit of an anxiety attack.  So knowing this, my mom has been hard at work on my shower since I got engaged.  I'm pretty sure she views it as a mini-wedding!  I think her goal is to make it as painless as possible for me.  So I'm excited to see all her hard work come to fruition, and for her to maybe relax a little once it's all over :)

Hey baby doll. So my shower is coming up in October and I totally understand the anxiety. I am already feeling awkward about opening up gifts and such in front of so many people ... and no one else will be opening up gifts. Weird ... makes me nervous. weird.

This is what I called a once in a lifetime centre of attention :) Dont think too much and just enjoy the day like you would with a bunch of friends over a nice drink or lunch! I am sure you are going to have a great time!

Oh how exciting! Super cute invites! I loved my showers! They were so special! I mean a lot of people feel they should go to your wedding, but when people go to the trouble to travel in for a shower, it somehow seemed even more special! And trust me, it's much easier to visit at the shower than the wedding, so take advantage of that!!!! I hope you enjoy it!

I know the feeling, I don't think I'd want a bridal shower. To be honest, the tradition was started as a gathering for those who weren't invited to the wedding.

Now, I don't really get why brides have a bridal shower. Most people who are invited to the shower attend the wedding, and end up having to buy two gifts.

I just finished my best friends bridal showers and she's a little of a crazy girl so we were looking for anything one of a kind. We got the bride a personalized 'born to be bride' hat with her picture printed on the front. Found this web-site that lets you personalize your own t- shirts, beer mugs, invites and tons of other neat things.
