MANIAC MAGAZINE LOVE ISSUE

As most of you know, last night I attended my first ever blogger event!  Having started this blog in August it feels like I'm finally beginning to pick up steam so I thought, Ok, why not, I'll go check this out.  But nervous doesn't begin to describe it.  I don't know ANYONE in Pittsburgh so going alone to something like this was DEFINITELY out of my comfort zone.  But I thought it'd be a good opportunity to meet people and maybe even get to do some networking.  So I went to downtown Pittsburgh.  (Have I mentioned how beautiful the city is at night when it's all lit up?)

The blogger event was in honor of their upcoming February/March Love Issue.  We got a sneak peek into the magazine and then had the opportunity to save some of their images to blog about!  The staff at Maniac has amazing style so it was so much fun to get a sneak peek (more on that in a bit).  In addition to getting to blog about the issue, there was also music, drinks, food, hand scrub, massages, hair cuts and makeup lessons!  A girls dream right?  These people know how to throw a party!

And what did I wear?  Well, that's important, right?  Since I knew I was going to be uncomfortable socially (a room full of women is a bit intimidating to me!) I had to keep my clothes as true to me as possible.  So I wore an oversize white sheer shirt, with a nude cami underneath, with a black skirt, black tights and black shoes.  And I accessorized with my love birds scarf (can't get enough) and pretty simple jewelry.  What do you think?

{White shirt & Shoes: Victoria's Secret, Nude Cami & Watch: American Eagle, Black Skirt & Clutch: Forever 21, Scarf: Charlotte Russe}

{These are the kinds of pictures that happen when you let your FiancĂ© get behind the camera.  But at least I got to go outside!}

{Accessories!}

I got to meet some nice people in the city and we talked a bit about our blogs and I got to explore an area of Pittsburgh that I've only been to once before.  Plus it's always fun to people watch when the people are so stylish!  For blogging I also got a great goodie bag.

{ModCloth tote, color shampoo, gingerbread hand scrub, more shampoo/hair product, a copy of the Maniac Dec/Jan issue, hand lotion, and a few gift cards for spas and salons!}

{Blogging stations to look at the newest issue}

{A peek around the party}

*****

 And now onto the good stuff-- The Maniac Magazine Love Issue!
As soon as I saw this spread called J'Adore Paris, I fell in love.  These clothes are so beautiful and it's shot just perfectly.  I love the styling and the backdrops.

I also loved this spread on different styles and the options to choose from.  I'll take one of each please!

And finally, a spread which captured my heart in a different way.  I've always wanted to go to Egypt (though if you asked me why, I'm really not sure).  And seeing this spread in the magazine was amazing.  I loved seeing the different views of Egypt instead of only the desert and pyramids (although how gorgeous is that shot too?!)

Take some time to visit Maniac Magazine and let me know your thoughts!

Sounds like you had a great time even though you had butterflies at first. Sometimes we have to step out of our comfort zones to grow and learn. I like the outfit you wore but I would have paired it with a red shirt. What do you think? I am not that much into fashion anymore with everything that I have to keep up with in my life. However, following your blog has made me want to take a closer look at what I am wearing once in awhile. I enjoy following you, your entertaining.

You could absolutely pair it with a red shirt. You'd just have to look at the balance between the red shirt and the red in the scarf. Pairing it with a red skirt would also work. However, I prefer neutrals and tend to stick with the basics so that's why I went with what I did. I'm glad you enjoy reading my blog :)

Thank you so much for your comment a while ago!! I'm so glad that you stopped by after reading Bessie's tweet, it is great to connect with you and I'm already loving your blog!! I'm so glad to hear you will be spending the bulk of your time in Rome, it is an amazing place. If I think of things, I'll definitely pass along advice. My husband and I lived there for about 2 years and we miss it so much, especially the food! :) I'm now following you as well, on GCF & Twitter, and I plan to hop over to Facebook & Bloglovin to connect with you there as well!

Now for this post! I LOVE the outfit...beautiful shoes and bag! I have always wanted to attend a big blogging event, maybe someday. So happy to find your beautiful blog!

I think your shoes are simply fabulous. Plus your black clutch bag is quite adorable. Both are a great match for your black tights and white shirt. I think your shoes and bag would also go well with a sexy V cut designer blouse. love your taste in clothes..
