Blogger Profile: Kassi of The Closet Intervention

Since beginning blogging in August I've "met" some very cool people.  The fashion blogging world is such an interesting world- it's so welcoming and loving, the complete opposite from what one might expect of anything to do with fashion.  I've created my weekly "Comment Love" posts to highlight the comments I get from readers and other bloggers to show my appreciation.  But I wanted to take it one step further and introduce a Blogger Profile series to introduce my readers to a few of my favorite bloggers.

First up, a girl who may possibly be my fashion soulmate, Kassi of The Closet Intervention.  She is a blogger from Michigan and we recently discovered we went to high school (and graduated the same year) right down the road from each other!  Kassi posts her fantastic outfits of the day (and has a great unique style) and ways to find a similar look (always on a budget), all with a great sense of humor.  I asked Kassi the following questions:

1.  How long have you been blogging?
I started blogging in 2008 with a personal blog of random ramblings called "Cirque de Shenanigans." I found I wasn't keeping up with it very well though. In April, 2011 I  decided I would share my love of fashion with the world - I dabbled - went on hiatus,  and got back into it hardcore in September. I feel like I have finally found my creative outlet, blogging about fashion is my drug.

2.  Why did you start?
Well I was always getting compliments about my style and had people tell me that I need to help them shop. I get asked for my opinion in stores all the time and mistaken for a worker in nearly every retail store (this still happens A LOT). I feel like I have a knack for fashion, an eye for what looks good on people and I wanted to share my knowledge with the world. I also know times are tough, economically people can't afford to spend a lot on fashion. I am a big believer that you don't have to spend a lot to look amazing. I don't just preach this, I live it. I thrift, shop clearance racks  and rarely spend much on any one item.

3.  What types of blogs are your favorite to read?
Fashion blogs...duh. Is this a real question!? I am a big fan of looking at the way others put looks together. I am so inspired and in awe of the incredible eye some people have. It's insane. Also I am not a very crafty person (unless we are talking witchcraft, then I am on point.Yes, that's a joke. Don't stop reading now) so I love blogs that show easy do it yourself fashion projects.

4.  What is one thing that you tend to splurge on?
Define splurge. I don't think I have ever spent over $100 on any one thing. I guess purses are what I spend the most on, and occasionally a good pair of shoes. If I had a butt load of money I would likely live in Chanel. I've been toying with the idea of saving up for a legit Chanel jacket, but I am sure my true colors will show up and I won't be able to resist getting 50 pieces for the price I would spend on one jacket.

5.  What are your favorite stores?
The ones that let me get stuff for free. They don't exist you say? I was wondering why there was a unicorn at Nordstrom's - makes perfect sense it would be a dream I suppose. Seriously, my favorite stores are Forever 21, H&M, Macy's, Marshalls, TJ Maxx, Goodwill, Clothes Mentor, Wild Iris, and a lot of others. It might have been easier to ask me what I don't like.

6.  What are your favorite things to do when not blogging?
What!? People have lives? I like to do this little thing called shopping. I also attempt to work out a few times a week, but mainly my favorite way to unwind is watching TV, football and movies with my hubby. I also moonlight as a vigilante, have you heard of Batman!? Yeah, I don't really know him, but I like to put on tights and a cape and perch on the top of my roof. Pretty sick, right? You wish you were me, admit it.

7.  Who was your favorite ninja turtle?
When I was growing up I loved the color purple. It looked like Barney threw up all over my bedroom. I had purple carpet, curtains, the whole shebang. So naturally I liked Donatello and his brainy ways. Also, I am pretty good with a bo staff- so I relate to him.

8.  If you could be a ninja or a sorcerer, which would you choose?
Choose? I am a ninja-sorcerer. I can spin in the air and turn people into chinchillas all at the same time. Suck on that Harry Potter.

9.  If you could have one superpower, what would it be?
Teleportation, for sure. I could travel around the world and it would seriously improve my stalking abilities. "What do you mean they saw me peeking in their windows, Officer? My car never left the driveway, you can't pin this on me Copper!"

10.  Do you think leprechauns are real?
What kind of question is this? Of course they are. Haven't you heard of Tom Cruise? Yeesh Sarah, you need to get out more.

Thanks Sarah for featuring me. :) Hopefully I haven't run to many people off. I don't want everyone to think I just run around and turn people into chinchillas on a whim.
